We appreciate your interest in applying to IDEA’s Spring 2024 management team! IDEA is Northeastern’s Venture Accelerator; we operate in 3 stage-gate processes: Ready, Set, and Go. Each step refines venture development and provides access to unique stage-specific resources:
- Ready stage - with the help of the ready stage coordinator, ready stage ventures focus on ideation, ensuring that they plan on targeting the appropriate markets and customer segments.
- Set stage - this stage focuses on how to deliver the product or service to the customer base chosen in the Ready stage (solution design). Ventures will leave the Set stage with the first iteration of their business model in place.
- Go stage - focuses on an effective go-to-market strategy, in other words, acquiring that first paying customer or handful of pilots. Ventures can apply for GAP funding of up to $10,000 per round in this stage (ventures can receive a maximum of $30,000; 3 successful application rounds with no limit on how many times you apply).
After completing IDEA 3 stages, ventures will be considered ‘launched ventures’ when they raise $200K in external funding or are self-sustaining on their own revenue.
IDEA Venture Advisors: Venture Advisors are a part of all three stages mentioned above; coaches guide ventures through how best to improve their ideas and subsequent execution, based on their stage-specific needs. The Venture Advisor works to ensure that these two groups, coaches and ventures, are able to communicate and work together to facilitate venture development seamlessly. The Associate works with our Coordinator to ensure smooth processes.
